There are three levels of volunteers at the station: Reception, Tech Support  and Presenters.

Reception:

This level comprises people who are prepared to assist presenters by sitting at the telephones in the foyer. By doing this they are freeing the presenter from having to answer the phone during his/her program.  They may also take messages for other people in the station.

Technical Support:

This level usually comprises people who have had some experience in working with electronic communications equipment.  It may take them a short time to familiarise themselves with the station system but generally these people are invaluable for their technical knowledge.

Presenters:

This involves firstly an introduction in a group setting to the station and some of its personnel and then some quite specific training on the technical operation of the panels in the studios.  Generally this takes up to six months during which time they participate in the “New Presenters” program on Thursday nights, initially under the guidance of an allocated experienced presenter and eventually being judged sufficiently proficient to operate on their own. At the end of the process when it is deemed that the person can operate on their own, they are accredited presenters.
